Dwarf Sand Gecko

Dwarf sand gecko (S. sthenodactylus) are an extremely small species reaching around 9-10cm as a full grown adult.

They are a beige/ sand colour with striking patches of white, yellow and black, and being almost camouflage in their natural environment helps them to survive in the arid regions and deserts of Africa and the Middle East.

Dwarf Sand Gecko are happy to live together in a group with 1 male and 2 females providing they are given adequate space- though there is a chance of breeding when kept with the opposite sex. They enjoy an enriched enclosure filled with rocks, sand, bark and other decor which helps them to climb and hide at their leisure.

Like many other geckos, this species is Nocturnal meaning they are active mostly at night and their main food source is similar to other species including an assortment of small insects such as crickets, mini mealworms and flightless fruit flies.

This species is fairly easy to care for providing that the correct housing, heating, space and feeding requirements are met.
